QARs
The following information is to be used when performing quality assessment reviews (QARs) (peer reviews). Some HASDIA members are interested in performing and receiving QARs as a way to improve their audit shops and to help others do the same. These reviews will also assist your Board in assessing the performance of Internal Audit in your organization. To ensure objectivity, a reviewing organization will not receive their review from the same organization that they reviewed.
The following information is based on the current International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing as of January 1, 2009. The following documents have been updated as of October 1, 2009.

HASDIA obtained approval from IIA to conduct the peer reviews based on the audit program above. According to Mary Radley, CIA, Quality Director at IIA, "The way that you describe the arrangement it sounds like an acceptable peer review pool as set forth in Practice Advisory 1312-1 and will meet the requirements of an external quality assessment as required by Standard 1312."
